I've recently upgraded from a much older Mac OS, and have found there are many more system fonts than there were in the previous OS. Does anyone have any experience with any font utility that can hide these (I work client-side and only require about 10 font families). I'm currently using FontBook, and when I turn system fonts off, it 'warns' me. I really just want to create a restricted set and only see those within Quark. Thanks!
Any way to hide system fonts from Quark font menu?
Uncompressed font from CD
Our peer need to send a Mac font out from a CD. Unfortunately, he only have a PC. Apparently, the font is irrevocably corrupted on multiple attempts (PC cannot read the forks). How can he send it to us (through email or ftp) without destroying the Mac properties?
Any workaround?
TIA
Two weights look the same
Quark 7.5, Mac OS 7.4.11
I have 4 weights of (Open Type) Clarendon - light, medium, bold and extra bold, converted by FontXChange from Type 1. They all look different in Font Book, but when printed in Quark (and Word) the Light and Medium are identical, and the Bold and Extra Bold are identical. (And, speaking softly, they are correct in Photoshop and InD). I have nuked the font caches, but that makes no difference. Any idea why this happens?
problem with some fonts (mainly myriad) in QXP 9.2.1 since going to cs6
Some eps/pdf pictures in this document use screen fonts not available in your system
I'm getting the following error. "Some eps/pdf pictures in this document use screen fonts not available in your system, including: HelveticaNeue-HeavyItali, Helvetica-Condensed"
It is a 216 page file with hundreds of pictures. Fonts are loaded. Not sure what is causing the problem unless it is not the exact version of Helvetica.
Any way I can tell which pictures have this problem? I hate to have to go through each picture one by one.
Missing Invisibles & Fonts Loaded & Not Showing in Quark
Quark Version 9.3 | Mac OS 10.7.4
When trying to see invisibles I get the following error message "Invisibles cannot be shown. Instal the Quark hidden font and show invisibles again." I have looked in the Quark Required Components folder and the file is there.
Quark Responed once and told me to "Clear the font cache using Font Finagler." I did this and it created font issues that didn't have to begin with. I uninstalled and downloaded Onyx (which I found recommended on the Forums), ran that and still get the same error. And now within this process, I can't get Avant Garde to show up in the font menu in Quark (it is part of multiple template files), everything is perfect in Adobe CS6 products, and the font is installed in Font Book.
I contacted Quark again and have not heard anything back from them in over a week.
Any help with fixing this would be great.

Plain style font not showing up in quark
Thanks to anyone that can help. I am running Mac Vs 10.6.5 with quark 8 and extensis Fusion 3. I load the font that is stored on my harddrive into Fusion 3 and it shows up. I can activate it ok. I can see it in fusion ok. But when I launch quark all I can see is the Itallic, Bold, and Bold Italic versions but not the plain version. This is happening to different fonts so I know it is not just the one font. It is also happening to my co-workers computer. That is identical to mine. I can see the whole font family in any adobe product but not in Quark. What is causing this and why?

QuarkXpress 9.5 Crash with autoactivate Suitcase Fusion 3
Hi
I have update to Q 9.5 and when i try to open some files made with Q 9.3.1.1. the app crashed. I thought must be some about the fonts. Then I unchecked the autoactivate function and the files has opened without problem. I´ve to activate fonts manually.
I hope Quark will fix this soon.
Thanks
